After reading the review here at Syrup and Tang, a collegue and I chose it for a lunch. The food was very good - a main of goat with a walnut and honey 'crumb' topping (heavenly) that came with a tangy fetta dressed cabbage salad, and a fig pie that was satisfying if a good example of mild Greek flavours.

Was not, however, impressed with the service which was sluggish and somewhat unattentive. Still that didn't upset us too much and we would definitely (and already have) recommended it to others!

I was very amused by how few people ate their potatoes. Seemed like everyone had ordered them and no one had room to finish them!

The book is certainly not showing off the modern edge of the restaurant, though thankfully the content does to some extent. The publisher, New Holland, doesn't often do the modern chef's book thing.

Press Club is on my list for the next time I'm in Melbourne. Got the book recently. Wasn't terribly impressed by the design. Considering it's about MODERN Greek food, the overall look is quite old fashioned. Interesting recipes though. Can't wait to try some out.
